A Destination Wedding
Getting married in the couple’s hometown is tradition, but these days the rules have changed. Now it’s all about the bride and groom’s tastes and celebrating their love in any way they imagine. This couple chose one of the few walled cities that is still standing to take the next step after their engagement. Perhaps this is because of their romantic world view or because they are passionate about giving meaning to everything. Maybe that’s why they are convinced that nothing just happens. A simple encounter one day, can mean that the next day you decide to spend the rest of your life alongside your true love. Both Yvette and Peter have agreed on this sentiment since the beginning of their relationship, and without this, it would be hard to imagine their celebration.
Preparing for the Best Day
Yvette is a bride who pays attention to details, and that was reflected in the event’s organization. Not only by choosing Mary Cueter as wedding planner, we also noticed this attention to detail in her style; the chic jewelry and hair accessories that she used that day. Her hair was swept up and her makeup done in neutral tones, drawing attention to her expressive eyes. A white dress that would make anyone swoon; combining modern touches with a deep neckline and vintage details such as long, sheer, lace sleeves and a princess cut. Open-toed shoes in rose gold, were an interesting contrast to the colonial wedding style, and brightened the look. Meanwhile, the groom wore a black and white tuxedo perfectly.
The morning of the big day was relaxed. Yvette spent time with her bridal party, including her sister and her cousins, her true accomplices. The group was always enthusiastic and toasted with her to her next life as a wife. Ready for the ceremony, the party wore pastel pink dresses with white details, which added a sweet, romantic touch.
The Ceremony
The backdrop for the ceremony was the Cathedral of Cartagena, an astonishing building that stands out for its majesty. One of the most emotional moments, that even caused some attendees to shed a tear, was the bride and groom’s entrance accompanied by their respective parents, as tradition states. Instead of a red carpet, they walked down the elegant black and white floor of the church’s aisle. First, the groom and his mother, subtly beautiful, who gave him encouraging looks. And finally, the bride and her overjoyed father.
At the conclusion of the mass, the couple and their guests walked to Casa 1537 accompanied by a spectacular show of local dancers, which they all happily enjoyed.
The Celebration
The newly-weds made a triumphant entrance to the event, where their guests welcomed them with applause and congratulations. The couple wanted to be sure that their family and friends enjoyed the event as much as they did, and wanted it to be an unforgettable night. They paid special attention to the meal, including some typical Colombian dishes, which pleased even the most demanding palate. The dessert table was superb, with something for everyone, from beautifully decorated miniature cupcakes to mousses, tiramisus, cheesecake, and more. Absolutely every detail reflected the bride's exquisite, traditional taste.
The youthful and jovial atmosphere of the party made the night joyful and pleasant. Once the newlyweds took part in the traditional dances, the dance floor opened to music by DJs and well-known artists Los Rabanes from Panama. Everyone was on the dance floor and the bride and groom even got on stage with the band, enjoying every minute of their wedding.
The environment and the couple made this moment unique, the kind of experience you remember forever with a smile.
